Balearic Championships 2024 – My First Major Title!

From October 18 to 20, 2024, the Balearic Show Jumping Championships took place at Hipódromo Son Pardo in Palma de Mallorca - and it was a very special premiere for me. Not only was it my first time competing in this championship, but it was also my first major show jumping competition with King. A true test of our partnership, as I had only been riding King for three months. That made it even more incredible that we performed so well as a team - I couldn’t have dreamed of a better outcome.
A Perfect Start with King
King already showed on the first two days of the competition that he can compete at this level. We remained clear in both classes and thus secured a strong position for the championship on the final day. As every result achieved on the previous day counted, I knew that another clear round would push us even further ahead.
The Grand Finale – Pure Excitement!
We remained clear in the championship round, which meant I entered the jump-off as the second best rider. The atmosphere was electric, and the tension grew with every round. When we went clear once again, I was already overjoyed - a secured second place!
But then, the unexpected happened. The final rider - a strong, confident competitor - made a mistake. At that moment, it hit me: I HAD WON! I was completely overwhelmed - my first major title and the ultimate proof that King and I were ready for bigger challenges.
An unforgettable Moment
This championship was a true milestone for both of us. King showed at every moment what an incredible partner he is - reliable, focused, and full of fighting spirit. It wasn’t just another competition; it was a pivotal step in our journey together.
The award ceremony took place in the evening, making the moment even more special. Standing at the top of the podium, taking in the atmosphere, and realizing what we had achieved was an indescribable feeling - one I will never forget.
I can’t wait to see where this adventure takes us next - but one thing is certain: this moment will stay with me forever!
